this weekend my friends kristi and yaniv came to visit en route to indiana. so, we did the tourist thing, grilled oysters at dragos, which are amazing. then we walked around the french quarter a little. saturday we went to the aquarium, which was pretty cool, got to see an albino alligator. sunset over jackson square. i believe you can never take too many pictures of jackson square and st louis cathedral. after we watched part of the sunset there, we went to margaritaville to the tire swing bar. its a bar where all the seats are tire swings. its amazing. i stumped the bar tender... they had pitu cachachacahca, and i ordered caiphirinias for us. bar tender didnt know how to make them, so i had to teach him that. and then, they didnt even have cachacha on the computer. so, it wound up being cheaper than margaritas. amazing. next to margaritaville is the french market which used to sell things of use, but now mostly sells touristy crap. although, i think they do sometimes have farmers markets there.
