april was a busy month. we spent the majority of the month at sea... mostly off the coast of north carolina conducting ampib ops... we landed every helicopter in the marine arsenal as well as ch-47 chinhooks from the 160th special operations aviation regiment (army guys) so, that was neat. in the first few weeks we put 500 marines and 25 AAVs ashore by ourselves. the next time out, we operated as part of an amphibious ready group carrying an LCU. most of the time spent off north carolina was in a small box going at slow speeds...
