JETS/RAVENS Monday Night Football game
Woody Johnson gave our ship 150 tickets to the first jets game at the
new meadowlands stadium. naturally, we took 3 busloads of sailors to the game. we stayed at sea girt new jersey national guard training center. it was pretty cool. we stayed in a barracks, they had like 12 racks to a room. we had the 7 hour bus ride to new jersey, got to the barracks, and then made our racks, got in our whites, and went to the game. when we got there, it was raining a little, so the game was delayed because of rain and thunder storms. after the rain cleared, we went out on the field during the pre-game practices and walked around. tim and i walked as far as we could until we got stopped by the goal post behind us. pretty
much, summer whites get you into almost anywhere. while we wer
e walking around, we took some pictures of some of the fans. they had some crazy costumes... and then, after the game there were fireworks, and the new meadowlands stadium all lit up. it was a pretty nice stadium. the next morning we woke up, and drove back to norfolk. it was a great way to spend two work days.
