london day 1
ok, so this morning i woke up at 5am... brushed my teeth, showered, and since i didnt get a chance to say bye to one of the friends i had made on the trip, i wrote a little letter and had the doorman deliver it up to their room for me... i was on the road to the airport by 6am... and i was in my apartment in london by 1pm... between those two points i had a little bit of stress, and a little bit of line, which caused a little stress, but not much... the first bit of stress was that i landed in madrid to change plane at gate 98... and the flight to london was in gate 4. and according to the flight board, i had ten minutes before it boarded... somehow i got there with 5 minutes to spare boardingwise... because they boarded it 10-15 minutes late probably... but i walked pretty quick across the whole bloody terminal. then we got to london and it was time to wait in the immigration queue.... which took 40 minutes... i was nervous that my driver would try to leave early thinkin i wasnt coming... like what almost happened to me in vilnius. but this lithuanian driver uses his head. he actually checked to see if flights are delayed and knows the time it takes for immigration queues... so i was in my new flat.... its ont he ground floor of a building that looks kind of georgian... on a sort of quiet street near the border of chelsea and kennsington. i think. so i needed to get a new cellphone, a tube pass, and some food. so i took off walking towards a dome that i glanced at... (ill say to the north) figuring a dome meant buildings non-residential which equalled shopping... so i was sort of right... turns out it led me to the victoria and albert museum... which led me to harrods. which meant i got my cellphone, and lunch. and i got a tube pass at south kennsington station... so then i just needed food... i came home, watched the simpsons, then treked about to what i'll call the south... i walked around sloane square and it was raining... i finally found a grocery store... so now i have food... sort of... i have some sausage and red beans and rice... but i couldnt find cayenne pepper... haha.
